Deutsche Stiftung Verbraucherschutz becomes a thematic partner of the CDR Initiative
The CDR Initiative welcomes the Deutsche Stiftung Verbraucherschutz (DSV) as a new thematic partner. The DSV brings a strong perspective on consumer education, self-determination, and orientation in digital consumer environments to the network.
The Deutsche Stiftung Verbraucherschutz is the foundation of the consumer advice centers, the Federation of German Consumer Organisations (Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband e. V.), and its members. It is committed to supporting consumers in an increasingly complex world and empowering them to make self-determined purchasing decisions. Consumer education is at the heart of its work and covers the areas of digital literacy, financial education, sustainable consumption, as well as health and nutrition.
Through its work, the DSV strengthens digital responsibility in key areas. It supports projects that foster digital consumer competencies and help people better understand digital offerings, think critically about them, and navigate the digital space safely. Key topics include online fraud, platform logics, data protection, and disinformation.
These are precisely the areas where synergies with the CDR Initiative lie. While the Initiative advances responsible digitalization within companies, the DSV complements this perspective by focusing on consumers and their (digital) education. Through exchange with stakeholders from business, academia, politics, and consumer protection, the CDR Initiative and the DSV pursue a shared goal within the CDR network: making responsibility in digitalization tangible.

“Digitalization creates opportunities and possibilities — but also increased complexity in everyday consumer life and new uncertainties. For consumers to be able to navigate confidently and assess offers, strong consumer education is essential. For the Deutsche Stiftung Verbraucherschutz, responsibility in digitalization means keeping exactly that in mind — which is why we are delighted to contribute this perspective to the CDR Initiative.”
