First CDR-Report published by our member MARKGRAF
After joining the CDR Initiative in 2024, the construction company MARKGRAF has now published its first report on corporate digital responsibility (CDR).

With its first report on corporate digital responsibility (CDR), MARKGRAF is sending a clear signal for responsible action in the digital transformation of the construction industry.
Sustainability in the twin transformation
The construction industry is undergoing profound change. ‘Digital twins’ of physical structures are becoming increasingly important in the planning, construction, management and disposal of buildings, while at the same time there is growing pressure for greater sustainability and resource conservation. As a medium-sized construction company with strong roots in tradition and a clear focus on the future, MARKGRAF is using this transformation to take on a pioneering role. With its first CDR-Report, the company is now highlighting how it is shaping responsibility in the digital space and consistently applying the principle of ‘grandchild-friendliness’.
The guiding principle of grandchild-friendliness – i.e. the obligation to make decisions in such a way that future generations also benefit – is firmly anchored in the value system of the foundation-supported company. This commitment is particularly impressive in an industry where the topics sustainability and digital responsibility are still relatively new. MARKGRAF has already created central structures that underline its own standards, for example by introducing an externally certified information security management system.
Integration of the CDR maturity model
The company is also breaking new ground in CDR reporting in terms of the used methodology: with its CDR maturity model, MARKGRAF is the first member of the initiative to use a systematic assessment framework to present progress in digital responsibility in a transparent and comprehensible manner. In doing so, MARKGRAF not only shows where it currently stands, but also how it plans to develop further. This structured approach makes it clear that CDR is not seen as a one-off project, but as a continuous process.
With the publication of its first CDR report, MARKGRAF is sending a strong signal to the industry: digitalisation and sustainability are not opposites, but can be brought together through clear governance, value orientation and innovative strength. The CDR Initiative expressly welcomes this step as an example of how companies in a changing industry can take responsibility and actively shape the future.
