Lessons learned by AOK PLUS from the CDR development partnership
With its vision of being a ‘health guide’, AOK PLUS is pursuing an ambitious goal: to support people confidently, effortlessly and individually. Digitalisation plays a central role in this, as does responsibility.
Since spring 2025, AOK PLUS has been a pioneer of the newly launched CDR development partnership. The CDR-Quick-Check and internal benchmarking against best practice measures from the CDR-Code Reports, which classified AOK PLUS's previous CDR activities, paved the way for this. In a workshop with the CDR initiative's office, AOK PLUS developed its future CDR path along the CDR maturity model:
- CDR was defined as a strategic cross-cutting issue.
- Many existing measures were analysed in terms of their CDR significance and strategically positioned.
- A CDR strategy was developed and priority areas for action were defined for its implementation.

We want to approach digitalisation not only efficiently, but also responsibly. This is crucial for our employees, customers and our entire ecosystem [own translation].

AOK PLUS is already implementing effective CDR measures. It is only logical to bundle these measures under a holistic CDR strategy in order to utilise synergies and identify innovations. Together with our leading sparring partner, the CDR Initiative, we are continuing to develop our digital responsibility and integrating it into our existing processes and structures [own translation].

The collaboration with AOK PLUS has demonstrated once again that CDR is now the foundation of strategic organisational development and, above all, a catalyst for digital transformation [own translation].

What comes next?
Together with AOK PLUS, we are continuing to develop CDR in order to accompany AOK PLUS into a responsible digital future for its insured members and employees.
We look forward to gradually introducing further development partners and sharing insights that we can learn from in joint discussions. Because one thing is clear: CDR is not a project, but a shared learning journey.
