Digitalisation is advancing in all areas of life – and the world of work is no exception. Currently it is bringing about changes, for example, through new digital business processes. On the one hand, the demand for IT specialists is increasing as a result, while the lack of qualified personnel is posing a major challenge to many organisations. On the other hand, existing jobs are disappearing as a consequence of digitalisation. Developing digital skills among employees offers companies a way to successfully navigate this dilemma. A very practical way of achieving this is by collaborating with educational institutions for trainees. In addition, employees can qualify as IT specialists through special programmes designed to train career changers.

In its programme "Smart Movers", ING offers precisely this type of further training scheme, with the later possibility of switching internally to a job with better prospects for the future.
